When creating a sequel to a critically successful first-person action-adventure game, it’s not enough to measure up to the original. But the story behind its design is still fascinating. Sadly, this venerable franchise from Monolith Productions has not received the rerelease that it richly deserves, and that many are clamoring for, due to what seem to me insurmountable licensing issues.
